Mural Design – The Wintrust Mural Building

CIC is pleased to announce a call for artists to design a mural for the Wintrust Mural Building, highly visible from the iconic Interstate 90 (I-90). This project aims to celebrate CIC’s mission and the lasting impact of preserving affordable rental housing in Chicago’s neighborhoods. Interested artists should review the full Call for Artists informational packet here and may submit an application through the online form. This Call for Artists opens February 28 and closes April 3. Questions can be sent to mural@cicchicago.com.

We invite you to share this opportunity with your networks and encourage all interested artists to apply!

Online Form: Call for Artists: Community Investment Corporation – The Wintrust Building Mural

Additional Project Description

CIC will commission one artist to create a 3-panel mural design in a digital vector or raster format.  No installation is required. The Call for Artists opens February 28 and closes April 3. CIC will then invite up to five finalists to submit a more comprehensive proposal and concept, and provide $1,000 honorariums to all finalists. Artist will be selected and notified in the third week of May, with project delivery due June 22. The selected artist will receive $9,000 to cover all artists fees. We hope that the mural design embodies the vibrancy of Chicago neighborhoods, the crucial role that everyday multifamily apartment buildings play in these neighborhoods, and the positive multiplier effect that improving properties and investing in neighborhoods has in our city.
