Standard Workshops

The Basics of Residential Property Management. This foundational class provides landlords with the knowledge to better market, manage, and maintain a residential rental property. Attendees generally include current and prospective rental property owners, property managers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, insurance agents, contractors and real estate attorneys. 

Important Note: This class does not lead to licensing to become a professional property manager. 

Workshop Details

Topics might include marketing, Fair Housing, Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinances, eviction laws, nuisance abatement, real estate tax issues, maintenance, and budgeting.

Fee In-Person $60 per person | Online $50.00 per person

Industry Standards: All standard workshops comply with many lender training requirements for purchasers of two or more units. Certificates are valid for two years from issue date. Standard workshops meet the certificate requirements of the following lenders:

  • Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, Inc.
  • Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • Many CIC Partner Banks

Single Topic Training Sessions (virtual and in-person)

Training sessions are also offered on a range of specific topics to provide in-depth information on all aspects of building ownership and management.
